WHY TETRA IS A GAME CHANGER FOR STUDIOS
At the early stage of our game engine, Tetra, we got in touch with a midsized game studio creating titles on multiple platforms - a real challenge, like seasoned game developers know. They were using a popular 3D engine that has been poorly maintaining their WebGL codebase and it was a struggle to balance the budget on the GPU and memory. It became a nightmare for them.
The biggest advantage they saw at first was the capability of distributed computing readily available in the engine. Almost immediately, their development time was cut down in half as they no longer had production bottlenecks to wait for their editor to compile or import assets, watching most of the time a very slow progress bar without any indication when the job was complete.
The more they worked with Tetra, the bigger the excitement. As the WebGPU implementation was not only much more graceful on the memory usage, the performance outran over four times compared with their existing project. Where once they had to create bundles of asynchronous resources per platform, they now had automation at their disposal. Because in Tetra, platforms wide compatibility and optimization is part of the pipeline.
After evaluation, the game studio was more than excited to continue with developing on the products of AZTEQ Metaverse and planned two projects to be released in the summer of 2024. Effectively, they saved over half of their total cost of ownership, decreased their time to market and changed their strategy to use Web3 technology over conventional asset management, thanks to Tetra, our award winning game engine.
CASE STUDY
The Tetra game engine is made to be cross-platform, utilizing WebGPU technology and supporting blockchain integration. Many extra features build on this powerful combination, such as infraless development and distributed computation; this award winning engine is a performance class leader amongst WebGL alternatives.
